3 Resource consideration

3.1 Secretariat resource
CASCO now has various means to execute its vision and major strategies: its plenary committee, standing groups (i.e. Chairman's Advisory Group (CAG), Standing group on strategic planning (SGSP), Industry Advisory Network (IAN), Market feedback panel, Advisory group on standards and conformity assessment and Communication group), and more than ten working and ad hoc groups for achieving specific projects. CASCO will endeavour to serve both existing and recently formed groups by introducing more efficient working methods.

3.2 Member resource
The recently formed groups, such as Communication group, Market feedback panel and Advisory group on standards and conformity assessment, increase the need for human resources: approximately fifteen to twenty experts nominated from interested CASCO member bodies and a small number of representatives nominated by liaisons with CASCO. While these groups will work largely by correspondence, using IT tools as much as possible, the members of these groups may need to attend occasional meetings, which will accordingly add additional travel expenses.

3.3 Financial resource
Special consideration is also needed for supporting the activities of Communicators, in order to represent CASCO at various events. It would be worthwhile to explore the possibility to obtaining funds from international and regional financial organizations, such as the World Bank and IDB, for this purpose.
